Date: 30th March 2009
Time: 12.00pm -1.00pm

Historical Report
A former stable boy who committed suicide before his wedding, it is not
known whether he took his life in the barn or under the archway which was
situated between the Blagdon Inn and the nearby manor house.
A young girl who has been sensed in the far end of the restaurant, who apparently died in a tragic fire, but it is not known when the fire took place.

Report
The Blagdon Inn is situated on the Totnes road between Totnes and Paignton in Devon. It was built in the 15th century on a former barn next to the manor house, with it’s traditionally thatched roof it resembles something from a picture postcard.
We arrived at the Blagdon Inn at about 12:00pm and were greeted by Chris Tanner who has expressed his interest in finding out if there is any truth behind some of the stories he has heard whilst working there.
It is known that there were actually two people during the history of this location who had the same surname Henry, maybe this is the reason why it is not known where the former stable boy took his life. Some say that he took his life under an archway which was between the barn (Blagdon Inn) and the manor house, others say that is happened in the former barn which is now the Blagdon Inn.
There have been a few reports from customers over the years of mysterious happenings in the pub. A woman that had been sitting in the middle area of the restaurant had sensed the presence of a man who had hung himself, but she said that she was sure that he had hung himself in the direction of the nearby woods.
A man who was sitting by the fireplace reported sensing the presence of John Henry who he felt was sitting in an armchair next to him.
There are also reports from the former owners who occupied the pub for about 11 years. In this time a few things had happened in the upstairs area, where used to be a function room, there are now two apartments there. In the downstairs area of the main bar, the former owners had been setting up a function in the upstairs room and had laid all the tables. When they arrived back in the morning they found that some of the items on the tables had been moved.
The former landlady's son in law had been doing some paint work in the main bar area downstairs, and heard his name called out clearly. He claims that he was alone in the room at the time.

Last year a medial paranormal team conducted an investigation in the pub and had sensed the spirit of a little girl called Rosie in the back area that a little girl had apparently died during a fire in the building.
Chris Tanner reported that the alarm system behind the bar which works on the same lines as our beam barrier motion detectors has been known to go off for no apparent reason, this has happened a few times.

The investigation of this location has been set up for the 24th April 2009 and will be carried out between 12:00am and 4:00am. We hope to get to the bottom of this story and be able to prove or disprove the existence of paranormal activity in the Blagdon Inn.
