EVP
EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) is a possible way to communicate with spirits. Paranormal researchers believe that the voices of the dead can be recorded and played back on digital recorders or magnetic audio tape. It is the most modern way to communicate with the spirit world. Some sceptics however believe that they are not voices of the dead but radio or CB transmissions.
The following recording is an example of a Class A EVP captured by the team at the famous suicide spot of Beachy Head, East Sussex. An unkown male voice clearly says 'Barri' after Lead Investigator Barri Ghai finishes speaking.

GPS have identified four classifications of EVP analysis:
| EVP Classification | (QPG) Quality Percentile Grade | Recording Description | Frequency Range Hz | Enhancement |

| Class B | 50% - 70% | Practically audible and some doubt to the interpretation, syllables & consonant pronunciation. | 20Hz to 20kHz with a frequency boost at approx 5-6 dB at 1-6kHz | PARTIAL |
| Class C | 30% - 50% | Random Sounds, Voices, Whispers and a direct response is not required | 20Hz to 20kHz with a slight frequency boost at approx 0.5-2dB at 1-5kHz | SIGNIFICANT |
| Class D | 10% - 30% | Unrecognisable and almost totally random noises, whispers, clicks or other anomalous sounds | 20Hz - 20Khz with slightest mid range boost 0.25 dB at around 800Hz to 2 Khz | TOTAL |
How do we capture EVP's?
We use digital voice recorders to capture these spirit voices and anomalous sounds. The digital recorders are held away from the face or placed on a flat surface within the immediate vacinity of the investigator, and various fixed or random questions are asked allowed into the ether, leaving around 5 to 10 seconds between questions. During many investigations, recorders are left on during all vigils to act as fixed audio receivers which help support any video evidence.
We can also record, monitor the capture any EVP's in real time by using instruments such as an EVP Field Processor (EFP).
